Linen Description
Linen is supposed to be the oldest know textile
product, used by stone age man or probably woman. Grown by the
flax plant that is found in Europe. After the fiber is removed
from the plant it is graded according to softness, strength, length and
cleanliness. The natural color of linen is an off white to a dark
gray color.
Most people associate linen with fine napkins and
tablecloths. Linen is also used in drapes and linings. It
does not have the drape ability of most fabrics, so it wrinkles easily.
But a fine choice for more expensive house dressings.
