Linen Description

Linen is supposed to be the oldest know textile product, used by stone age man or probably woman.  Grown by the flax plant that is found in Europe.  After the fiber is removed from the plant it is graded according to softness, strength, length and cleanliness.  The natural color of linen is an off white to a dark gray color.

Most people associate linen with fine napkins and tablecloths.  Linen is also used in drapes and linings.  It does not have the drape ability of most fabrics, so it wrinkles easily.  But a fine choice for more expensive house dressings.
